Question of the Day
What is something you could give a 30 minute presentation on with little to no preparation?
We are excited to recognize CrossFit TILT Waltham’s August Member of the Month Mark Dacey! Mark is consistently one of the most hard working, positive and coachable athletes at TILT. Watching him improve at TILT comes as no surprise as it is a reflection of his attitude and effort we see every day. We are thrilled to recognize Mark and all of his hard work. Athletes like Mark are what make TILT so special! Congrats Mark!
Mark answered a few questions for us so you can get to know him a little better!
· How long have you been doing CrossFit and how did you start?
I looked at CF gyms near work four years ago. I didn’t like the vibe at those gyms and I figured CF was not for me. Then I started training with some CFNE friends in their home CF gym in their barn. They taught me the ins and outs of burpees, cleans, AMRAPs, etc. They suggested that I pursue the full experience and recommended their friend Max and TILT. I signed up with Max on May 1st 2017. I’ve been hooked ever since.
· What do you do when you’re not at TILT?
I have three teenagers at home and try to spend as much time being active with them as I can while they can still stand me. Skiing, hockey, basketball in the winter and beach/pool in the summer.
· What is something most of TILT doesn’t know about you?
I love to scuba dive! Before the kids were born, I traveled to some great dive destinations with my dive buddies. My favorites were The Great Barrier Reef off Australia, Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt on the Red Sea, and the Caymans. Diving has been on the back burner raising kids, but now the kids are getting old enough to get certified themselves. The plan is to do some family diving when they are trained.
· Have you had a favorite moment at TILT?
I love the throw downs! They are always a blast.
· Most importantly, now that you have the Member of the Month belt, what would your walkout song be?
This is the toughest question. So many great songs to choose from. Right now I’m feeling “Panic In Detroit” by Bowie.
