  1. When did you start CrossFit?

 

I started Crossfit when TILT opened in April of 2016

 

  1. What’s your favorite workout?

 

Most the workouts I have only done once, so it’s too soon to tell what my favorite is. But if I had to pick one, I’d say Murph. It was my first hero workout, and I remember I was very intimidated by it, but then it turned out to be a lot of fun! I look forward doing it again!

 

  1. If there was a “Crispy” workout what would it be?

 

Crispy:

500 m row – 12 deadlifts – 21 toes to bar

500 m row – 12 power cleans – 21 pull ups

500 m row – 12 split jerks – 21 ring dips

  1. What is your spirit animal?

 

I have two: The iguana and the octopus. The iguana reminds me of enjoying and appreciating the little things in every day’s life; and the octopus inspires me to belief that I’ll figure things out, no matter how tricky a situation can be. I also find those two animals very beautiful.

 

  1. If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?

 

Gee, before the challenges I’d say tuna tartare or smoked salmon… But I don’t know if I could eat that every day. What I’ve discovered though is that I can have sweet potatoes every day! So…Crispy’s every day meal: Roasted yams (Japanese, Garnet, Jewel, Hanna..), artichokes and steak.

 

  1. What does a normal day look like for you?

Alarm goes off at 6:00 am and I snooze it until 6:30… then get up and get Ari up, and start getting ready. Prepare coffee and breakfast…and be out the door at 7:20 to bring Ari to the bus. Then I get back home and I work between 7:30 AM and 3:30 or 4:00 pm. Then I head to TILT. I usually take the 4:30 class. After that I pick up Ariana from the after school program, go home, prepare dinner, spend some time with Ari, put her in bed… shower… I have some time after that to either read, catch up with fb, or watch something (these days I am into Last Week Tonight with John Oliver) before I go to bed.

 

  1. How did you get the nickname Crispy?

 

Ha! Well I started writing my name on the board as Cris and I thought: “let me add a p for my last name”…and then I just added the “y” not sure why. I thought it was cute.

 

  1. What is your dream vacation?

 

My dream vacation involves extensive time to be on vacation, being immersed in a different culture with lots of history, eat things I’ve never eaten before, enjoy nature and beautiful landscapes but also being able to explore a city, enjoy the architecture and lifestyle, take great pictures, and buy cool stuff! A version of the Silk Route it’s on my bucket list…
